as always at the Bedford. The management are so sweet, the bands were dedicated if not in my taste (at all), but it was a great night still. Unfortunately the pool table in the hidden back room is gone. Helen & Wayne made a real effort to make it and brought a beautiful friend from Clapham, and we spent most of the night talking and eating kebabsĀ and playing cards - I’va got a Clash pack!, and afterwards the band headed back to Tim’s pad for an afterparty, but I was hopelessly tired and fell asleep on the couch listening to Manic Street Preachers,
also met enthusiastic photographer Mark Sutton, who is building a portfolio and lives in Thornton Heath, so if you need a rock photographer, this may be your man. I have to point out that he’s rooted in the same music as I, 70’s punk rock, and he LOVED out set.
Which was as follows:
Punk Rock Jehovah
Justice (Mark’s fave. Everybody loves this tune!)

Way down shit creek with no paddle
You might think that we’re way down shit creek with no paddle now that we’re drummerless, but these two gigs have cemented my faith. It’s so easy now. We’re going to offer to take last minute slots all over the place.
The Grosvenor is not intimate in the way Bedford Park is, but it’s bound to be a great music venue if you have a big crowd. It’s in a really dodgy looking area of Brixton/Stockwell. There’s a very nice girl behind the bar, but I can’t remember her name. I kept borrowing pen. The last time in order to put another sign on the piano: There were signs saying “Don’t put drinks on the piano” and “Don’t sit on the piano”. I snuck up a sign saying “Don’t fuck on the piano”.
It was funny see all the guns and roses type rock’n'rollers sitting like wall flyers trying to be cool, and the real rock’n'rollers turned out to be Helen and Taylor of Danse Macabre, who spent most of our set dancing right up front. If you’re lucky enough to meet them, they drink cider. Event organizer Andy is a great guy and I hope things take off for him, he’s putting in a real effort and I know only too well how difficult and ungrateful the job is.
