playing standards? Oh no!

How, ever! Drummer Ashley Johnson, having set up his own drum recording studio, has started laying down live drums for Mad Mush songs. The first two has been the old pogues folk punk style favourite “One dirty day it’s gonna kill me” and the last dance seduction number “Naughty girl”. All we can say is that it sounds very nice indeed.

Unfortunately, odds are you won’t hear them for quite a while, because we plan to hold on to them until we have a chance to put them out in style with some risk capital to promote them. And who knows how long that might take?

You may also have noticed that Mad Mush aren’t gigging. Furthermore, a lot of the music and video previously available for free on the web, has been pulled.

Rest assured: the business side of things are now a top priority for the band. And going a little quiet is an aspect of a conscious move on our part.

There are of course no guarantees – other than that, if we get to live and have health, 2012 will hold a long line of Mad Mush recordings with Ash’s drums on them. We’d like to think that this is the year when we really make a statement of intent. We are going to raise our profile, complement the team, and claim whatever’s coming to us.

Yes.
